3D printing personalized drilling jigs with certified materials

In addition to the flexibility because 5 materials can be printed in one batch, Teamworkdental can also print personalized drilling templates on the J5 DentaJet. Stratasys supplies 3 medically certified biocompatible materials for this 3D printer.

In the past, these drilling jigs were milled. Since Teamworkdental in Benningbroek, North Holland, has the J5 printer, they have been printed. 3D printing is easier and takes less time for employees.

Ready for new materials

These drilling templates are printed with medically certified material. Stratasys has DentaJet for the J5 three medically certified biocompatible materials released. Stratasys develops the materials for the 3D printers itself. Jacob and David Reisig, the second generation in the family business in Benningbroek, attach great importance to this; Thanks to the certainty of a large group that stands behind the quality of the materials, Teamworkdental can deliver quality to its customers. “And if Stratasys comes up with new materials, we are ready with the J5 DentaJet,” says Jacob Reisig.

Multimaterial 3D printer

Which was the deciding factor to invest in the J5 DentaJet , is the ability to 3D print different materials in one batch. This makes the dental company even more flexible and makes it easier to meet the tight delivery times for dentists. “We can use multiple materials together on the J5,” explains Jacob Reisig. For example, Teamworkdental prints trays and control models together overnight. During the day, the 3D printer is free to do an emergency job for a dentist. Delivery reliability, quality and aesthetics are the core values of the company.

Simple operation

Teamworkdental started with 3D printing years ago, with an Objet printer from Stratasys. Compared to this, the new J5 is more user-friendly, the two brothers say.  Cleaning the printer is easier. In addition, the print job can be prepared with the GrabCAD software from Stratasys. Jacob Riesig: “Operation via GrabCAD is so simple that an employee can operate the 3D printer after a short instruction. The software places the parts on the building plate, but you can still change this. Then it is a matter of selecting the right material for each product and you are done.”
