Questions and answers

SEIDO Systems

SEIDO Systems is a Stratasys Platinum Partner for the Benelux, France and the Nordics. Below we answer the questions companies ask us most often — about technology choice, operational renting, service and how to get started with us.

About SEIDO Systems

What is SEIDO Systems?

SEIDO Systems is a Stratasys Platinum Partner for the Benelux, France and the Nordics. Since 2008 we supply, implement and support the full industrial Stratasys 3D printer range: FDM, PolyJet, SAF, SLA, P3/DLP and metal. Our headquarters are in Wevelgem (Belgium). We work with in-house after-sales and application engineers, so advice, installation and service come from one partner. Alongside printers we supply industrial SHINING 3D scanners in the Benelux, France and the Nordics.

What is the difference between SEIDO Systems, SEIDO Solutions and SEIDO Systèmes?

SEIDO Systems is the distributor and service partner in the Benelux and the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland). SEIDO Systèmes is the distributor and service partner in France with an office in Paris. SEIDO Solutions is our in-house print bureau (founded in 2011): we produce prototypes and end-use parts for customers who do not yet own a machine, or who need extra capacity or a benchmark. All three brands belong to the same group, with the same technologies and the same quality standard.

What does it mean that SEIDO Systems is a Stratasys Platinum Partner?

Platinum Partner is Stratasys’ highest partner level. It means we may sell the full industrial range and that we have local service, training and materials expertise in-house. Buying a professional 3D printer is more than ordering a machine: the right technology, the right material and after-sales decide whether the investment pays off. As a Platinum Partner we combine product knowledge with support in Dutch, French, English, Danish and Swedish, from offices in the region.

In which countries does SEIDO Systems operate?

We cover Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. SEIDO Systems is distributor and service partner in the Benelux and the Nordics; SEIDO Systèmes covers France with an office in Paris. The Nordic expansion has been running since 2025, with a showroom in Malmö. Service engineers and application engineers work locally, so installation, maintenance and training do not have to come from a distant headquarters.

Technologies and printer choice

Which 3D-printing technologies does SEIDO Systems supply?

We supply the full industrial Stratasys range:

  • FDM — industrial thermoplastics for functional prototypes, jigs & fixtures and end-use parts
  • PolyJet — high resolution, multi-material and full colour, including dental/medical
  • P3 / DLP (Origin) — parts with injection-moulding-like quality
  • SAF — powder-bed technology for functional nylon series
  • SLA — precision and fine finish (e.g. Neo)
  • SLM / metal — metal end-use parts and tooling

Which technology fits depends on material, tolerance, series size and post-processing — not on the “newest” machine.

What is the difference between FDM, PolyJet, SAF, P3/DLP, SLA and SLM?

FDM extrudes thermoplastic and is strong for functional parts, tooling and larger build volumes. PolyJet jets photopolymer and excels at detail, colour, rubber-like zones and anatomical or dental models. SAF selectively fuses nylon powder and is intended for repetitive, functional series. P3/DLP reaches a surface quality close to injection moulding, for end-use parts in resin. SLA is strong on precision and smooth detail. SLM builds metal parts from powder, for high-performance industrial or tooling applications. We help you make that choice through an intake — contact us via info@seido-systems.com or the contact form.

Which 3D printer fits my application?

It depends on what you print (prototype, jig, end-use part, dental, metal), in which material, how large, how often and which accuracy you need. Send a CAD file and use case to info@seido-systems.com or use the contact form. Application engineers translate that into one or two concrete machines — including whether operational renting or a certified pre-owned system is smarter than a new purchase.

Does SEIDO also print metal?

Yes. Metal 3D printing is in our portfolio alongside the polymer technologies. We supply both SLM / laser powder bed fusion (including Xact Metal XM200C and XM200G) and powder-free Tritone MoldJet systems (Dominant and Dim) for metal and ceramics. Typical use cases are high-performance end-use parts, series and tooling. Whether metal is the right choice depends on strength, temperature, weight, series size and post-processing. Ask for an intake; if you are unsure we first produce a benchmark part via SEIDO Solutions.

Which software do Stratasys printers use?

Most current Stratasys systems run GrabCAD Print (and GrabCAD Print Pro where needed). Depending on the technology, platform-specific tools are added, such as Insight for certain FDM workflows. Software updates are included in the operational-renting monthly fee. During installation and training we set the workflow up for your team.

Purchase, renting and financing

What is operational renting at SEIDO Systems?

Operational renting is 3D printing for one fixed, all-inclusive monthly price. You get access to an industrial Stratasys printer including installation, training, software updates, preventive maintenance, spare parts, interventions (labour and travel) and post-processing equipment. No large capex, no hidden cost categories, plus priority support. The formula is for companies that value uptime and predictable costs more than owning the machine on the balance sheet.

What is included in the all-inclusive monthly fee?

Included under our current operational-renting formula:

  • spare parts
  • interventions, including labour and travel
  • installation and training
  • software updates
  • preventive maintenance
  • post-processing equipment
  • certified service engineers in the Benelux, France and the Nordics

Exact scope is agreed per printer and per contract. Request a tailored proposal via the contact form.

Are print materials (filament, resin, powder) included in the renting fee?

No, not automatically. The published all-in list covers machine, service, interventions, updates, preventive maintenance and post-processing equipment. Consumables such as filament, resin or powder are not included there and are usually supplied separately. In a proposal we make clear what is and is not inside your monthly fee, so you have no surprise on the materials invoice.

Can I trade in an existing 3D printer?

Yes. Besides purchase and operational renting we offer leasing and trade-in / trade-up. If you have an older Stratasys system or a machine that no longer matches your volume, we look at trade-in value and a suitable new or certified pre-owned system. Terms depend on type, condition and hours. Include brand and model in your request.

Does SEIDO also sell certified pre-owned printers?

Yes. Our approved young pre-owned printers are at most 5 years old and have fewer than 6,000 print hours. They meet Stratasys quality requirements. Purchase includes 12 months warranty, 12 months VIP backup print service via SEIDO Solutions, genuine Stratasys parts, installation and training by certified service engineers, preventive maintenance before installation, verified history and an inspection with more than 24 hours of test printing. Available types change; ask for current stock.

What does an industrial Stratasys 3D printer cost?

There is no public catalogue price on the site: the investment depends on technology, build volume, materials, software, training and whether you buy, lease or take operational renting. Desktop machines and industrial systems sit in a completely different cost range. We prepare a tailored proposal, including total cost of ownership. If you want to avoid capex, look first at operational renting or a job through SEIDO Solutions.

Service, training and SEIDO Solutions

What service and after-sales does SEIDO Systems provide?

We have our own certified service engineers in the Benelux, France and the Nordics. A new printer includes one year of warranty; afterwards you can take a maintenance contract. Issues are resolved by phone or on site. Through SEIDO Solutions’ in-house VIP print service, production can continue if a machine is temporarily down. With operational renting, interventions are included in the monthly fee.

What is SEIDO Solutions and can I start with a test print?

SEIDO Solutions is our in-house print bureau in Wevelgem. We run the technologies we sell and produce prototypes and end-use parts under confidentiality, with short lead times and quality control. That is the logical first step if you do not yet want to buy a machine: benchmark, material comparison or a small series. Not ready to invest? Then Solutions simply keeps producing as a service. Materials, applications and scanners

Which materials and applications do you support?

Each technology has its own materials family: FDM thermoplastics (including ABS-M30, ASA, carbon filled, nylons, ULTEM where the platform allows), PolyJet photopolymers (rigid, flexible, colour, biocompatible, dental), P3/DLP resins (including production resins), SAF nylons and PP, SLA resins and metal powders. Typical applications: jigs & fixtures, robot tooling, end-use production, medical and dental. Material choice follows the application — not the other way around. Overview: materials and applications.

Does SEIDO also sell 3D scanners?

Yes. We distribute industrial SHINING 3D scanners in all countries where we operate, including EinScan (e.g. Rigil, Rigil Lite, Trak) and FreeScan (e.g. Combo, Omni, Trak Nova). That covers all-in-one, handheld, metrology/inspection and large-scale scanning. Overview on the 3D scanners hub. Scan-plus-print with one partner shortens the chain from physical part to CAD to print.

Is there a showroom where I can see machines?

Yes. Showrooms can be visited by appointment:
