MES developer AMFG eighth software partner GrabCAD

Stratasys has admitted MES developer AMFG as the 8th software partner to the GrabCAD ecosystem of software partners. This means that users of the AMFG software can read data from the Stratasys 3D printers for further processing in their own software and vice versa.

One of the conditions for using 3D printing more broadly as a production technology is that manufacturing companies must be able to use production data from their entire process. For this, all machines and existing software systems must be connected. AMFG develops so-called Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications for controlling production processes and analyzing them. For example, this allows you to monitor production in real time and has insight into where an order is in the process at any time. AMFG has also developed such a platform for additive manufacturing factories.

Crucial importance

“The combination of Stratasys hardware, GrabCAD software and AMFG's additive MES platform is a game-changer for AM departments looking to scale through automation while increasing overall traceability, utilization and quality,” said Danny Winn, Vice President of Growth and Innovation at AMFG. He calls it crucial for the future of scalable production of end products that data from the 3D printers becomes available in central software systems. Visibility and traceability of products during the manufacturing process are particularly important in highly regulated industries such as aerospace and medical.

The GrabCAD Software Partner Program is a ecosystem of software developers who develop an interface via a so-called SDK kit so that the Stratasys 3D printers can communicate directly with the specific software tools.
