Shift to volume production on Formnext
The line of industrial 3D printers for plastics that Stratasys is showing at Formnext 2021 is broader than ever. The broad line of 3D printing technologies underlines the shift to volume production. With this 3D printer line, the group shows that the corona lockdowns have not slowed down the pace of innovation.
“On the contrary, over the last two years we have accelerated our R&D programs to deliver real innovation across the entire value chain,” said Andy Langfeld, President EMEA of Stratasys. The new technologies, materials and software solutions are boosting the shift to volume production with 3D printing.
OriginOne
Volume production is certainly the market for which the H350 and the Origin One printers are intended. For the first time, the two techniques will be demonstrated at Formnext, including applications. The Origin One 3D printer (DLP technology) has been developed for the production of parts for end users, which are printed in large numbers. Stratasys uses an open material strategy for the Origin One. So third-party resins can also be used on the 3D printer.
With H350 and Origin One, volume production with 3D printing becomes a reality
SAF powder bed technology
The new SAF technology, developed together with Xaar 3D, which will soon become fully owned by Stratasys, is the powder bed technology intended for volume production. The technology is distinguished by its high degree of reproducibility and the predictable competitive cost per printed part. The H350 is suitable for the production of thousands of parts in a short time, such as cable holders, connectors, hinges, but also electronics housings and manifold-like products.
F770 large format FDM
Stratasys has expanded its line of FDM printers this year with the new F770 FDM 3D printer. This large format machine is suitable for 3D printing of large, complex and accurate parts, as well as for batch production of smaller parts. The construction volume is approximately 0.4 cubic meters. The first customers to work with the F770 will use it for both prototyping and the production of final parts.
Full color printing
In the field of full color printing, the new J35 Pro and J55 Prime 3D printers can be seen at the Stratasys stand at Formnext. This allows you to print ultra-realistic full-color parts and workpieces in which multiple materials are combined. Stratasys is showing a new series of materials for the J55 in Frankfurt, which, in addition to full color, also gives haptic properties to the prototypes. The J35 pro is the first desktop printer that combines multiple materials in one workpiece.
On the ecosystem side, the latest additions to GrabCAD are showcased. It is an example of this MES System from AMFG .
