Stratasys and Limbitless Solutions expand 12-year partnership

Stratasys and Limbitless Solutions, a nonprofit research facility at the University of Central Florida dedicated to empowering children through bionics, announced on 18 August 2026 the expansion of a 12-year collaboration. According to the official release, the partnership combines additive manufacturing, education and sustainability, and has already helped deliver hundreds of 3D-printed prosthetic devices to children across the United States and beyond.

Twelve years, hundreds of devices

Since 2014, Stratasys has supported Limbitless with materials, advanced additive manufacturing technology and engineering expertise, in a mission to increase accessibility through interdisciplinary teamwork, STEAM education and expressive assistive technology. Using Stratasys additive manufacturing, Limbitless produced end-use prosthetic components, 3D-printed molds for thermoformed cosmetic elements, and accelerated product development through rapid prototyping prior to injection-molded production. For many children, the devices provide functionality as well as confidence, self-expression and a sense of possibility.

The partnership includes a dedicated Limbitless lab at the University of Central Florida, equipped with multiple Stratasys systems, where students gain hands-on experience using 3D printing to create social impact and develop real-world engineering skills.

A CPO F370 for education

This year the two organizations have put a greater focus on sustainability, education and increasing access. Stratasys donated one of its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) F370 3D printers to support ongoing operations, student education and community outreach. The CPO program extends the life of additive manufacturing equipment through factory-certified refurbishment and redeployment.

Rosa Coblens, VP Sustainability & Communications at Stratasys, said the long-standing partnership reflects the best of what Stratasys has to offer. Through the company’s Mindful Manufacturing approach, reconditioning high-performing equipment via the Certified Pre-Owned program is intended to reduce waste and help purpose-driven organizations such as Limbitless extend their reach. Albert Manero, PhD, executive director and co-founder of Limbitless Solutions, said Stratasys has been with the organization since day one. What started as a short phone call while he was in graduate school became a decade-long partnership that, in his words, shows how additive manufacturing can create a tangible impact for the children served and for future engineers and designers working to build a more accessible world.

Why SEIDO is following this

As a Stratasys Platinum Partner for the Benelux, France and the Nordics, SEIDO Systems is following this collaboration because it shows how industrial 3D printing, equipment reuse and education come together in a social-impact application.
