Xact Metal introduces mid-size metal printer with up to 4 lasers

American manufacturer Xact Metal has expanded its line of 3D metal printers to the top with the XM300G. This machine, with a standard construction volume of 300 by 300 by 350 mm, is available with one, two or four lasers that overlap 100%.

With this XM300G, Xact Metal is launching a mid-size 3D metal printer, intended for companies that want to print larger parts or larger series. These are 3D metal printers based on Laser Powderbed Fusion technology, which guarantees high accuracy and fine details. The construction volume of the To shorten cycle times, both 400 and 700 W lasers are available. Especially in the quad-laser version with 700W fiber lasers, cycle times per build job are significantly reduced. This cycle time is further reduced by the interchangeable build platform. The spot size of the laser can be adjusted during 3D printing (70 to 140 µm), which further saves time.

Affordable metal printing technology

For various applications

“Xact Metal aims to further expand the use of metal 3D printing across multiple industries, including aerospace, automotive and general manufacturing,” said Mario Gomez, CEO.  “The The American manufacturer succeeds in keeping the cost price of the metal printers relatively low, lower than is common in this market. Materials that can be printed with the XM300G include aluminum, bronze and copper, stainless steel, titanium and super alloys such as Inconel, Cobalt chrome and Hastelloy. The American manufacturer's AM systems are open, so that materials from third parties can also be processed.

The XM300G is based on the XM200G multi-laser platform, a metal printer with a slightly smaller construction volume. Xact Metal will demonstrate both systems at Formnext 2022.
